Movement Classes

June 28, 2020

Dear Nia Community:

This may seem like dejavu, as I have sent a message like this before, but I like to think of it as coming full circle. I have decided to retire from teaching Nia.

Many factors have contributed to this decision. When I chose to leave teaching after my brain injury, I never thought I would return. Teaching, and even practicing Nia, had been and continues to be difficult on my body. I’m so grateful to Danell and Jodie for supporting me in what I like to think of as a “Nia experiment.” Teaching has been different these past two years, but it has been very rewarding.

As my health needs change, and the state of fitness classes change, I’m being called in a different direction, one that doesn’t involve teaching, and doesn’t involve Nia. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you. I wish you Joy on your journey.

My gratitude and love,
